The making of TIME
by
Time plays such a major part of our lives.
- When we get bored, we find ways to kill time. But time never ever dies…
- When we are unproductive, we waste time. But we never ever have find a rubbish tip to bury all the time that we have wasted.
- When we are busy, we find time to do that little bit extra. But we do not ever find out how we managed to find that extra time.
- As time goes by, we get older and wiser. But we never get to see time as it goes pass like we see a train rattling by. We just see the image in the mirror changing.
- “Time will tell”. We rely on time to reveal in the future what we do not see today. But time does not tell you anything. You just happen to see more tomorrow than you see today.
- The clock tells the time. But the clock is not time. And before the clock, time needed no announcement.
- When time stands still. These are special moments in our lives. Yet, time was nowhere to be seen in these special moments (even though it was supposed to be standing still in front of you) – we just stood still instead.
- “How long a minute is, depends on which side of the bathroom door you’re on.” ~Zall’s Second Law. Split seconds separate sports achievements. But the spectator watches the clock and the athlete watches his opponents. Everyone has their own time.
- Time is spent. But it is not like spending money. Somehow, time replenishes itself as quickly as you spend it.
So, who makes time?
With all the power that time plays in our lives, you would think that time has been created by a ‘higher power’. Yet, the truth is so simple that most of us will not believe it.
…You make your own time.
